I did something interesting recently. I bought a "dumb phone" to replace my Windows Smart Phone. Why would I do such a thing you ask? Two reasons, the Verizon XV6800 isn’t a very good phone and I wasn’t getting my money out of the data plan to justify the data charges. I like the features of the XV6800 and Windows Mobile is OK but in the end I’m very happy with my decision.
By the way, I have been "cheating" so far. I still have the XV6800 and I am using it much like a PDA. I connect to Exchange using ActiveSync, still upload notes in Evernote, etc using the wireless. I am considering selling the XV6800 and purchasing an Ipod touch or something similar but for now this is working out for me.

What you REALLY need, Aaron, is a phone that is actually smart. Not a smartphone, but a phone that is smart. You know, like an iPhone….
hehe - Hey Scott! Believe me I considered it. It all came down to 2 things… I couldn’t get reception on the XV6800 a lot of places. It was the phone because my wife would be beside me and able to make calls when mine would drop or lose signal. Second, the Internet cost just was too much for me. At the end of the day, I was paying more for Internet on my cell phone than I am at the house! If a certain company that we have in common would pick up the check for the data, I would have kept it.
I go with the “low-tech” solution. Talking about dumb phone! That’s what I have. I can make and recieve calls. not much more. I get 3 days battery life and have dropped it way more than once. It has character now.
