Pat - That is a very good question! I’m sorry but I don’t have access to the hardware anymore. The HP blade I had was a demo unit that we had to return it. I may have access to the hardware at a customer site in the near future and I will check it out for you.

Aaron,

Did you have any issues with Windows 2003 Os not finding the proper drivers for the ‘Ethernet Controller’ under Other devices? I’ve been trying to resolve the Other devices issue with the HP and QLogic drivers

Hello Kevin - If I get some free time between now and Friday, I will give it a try. Shouldn’t take long to do. My blade is on loan and I need to return it. I am working on getting another one in for a longer trial. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks!

Thank you for the follow up. We got bit by our SE leading us to believe that HP’s NIC’s could iSCSI boot VMware. Once the delivered the Eval and he started talking about how Linux could do it so VMware should be able to I was worried. Needless to say we sent the eval back and are waiting a little while longer before we move ahead.

Good Evening Kevin - I haven’t tried it yet but I will in the next few weeks. I’m not worried because I have used other iSCSI cards based on the same chip (Q-Logic 4062) with no problems. It is supported by both HP and VMWare but better safe than sorry. Thanks for your comment!

Have you tried booting ESX yet?
