UPDATE: This article has been updated here.

This is a follow up to my previous article about HP Blades not booting iSCSI. I have learned that the HP Blades do boot (and are supported!) some Linux OS’s. Microsoft is still not supported and I don’t have the official word on VMWare yet. I should have an official list next week. As soon as I get it, I will post it here.

We talked with an HP SE and I have asked him several times if VMware was supported and we have been told yes. I will be getting an Eval chassis in soon with a BL685 and I will be testing it as this was the design we asked for. I hope it is true! I don’t want to have to go Wayne Brady on the SE!!

Kevin - I tend to agree with you on that one. Linux support to me says VMWare support is there or right around the corner. I would love to hear you experiences with it. Please post back if you get a chance. As soon as I hear more I will let you know!
